Thoughts on Required Foreclosure Mediation

by Mario

What's your take on the (RMFM) per Administrative Order passed July 2010 by the Florida Supreme Court? The Order reads as follows:

"As of July 1, 2010 per Administrative Order No. A-2010-13 in the 5th Judicial Circuit, all newly filed mortgage foreclosure actions filed against a homestead residence shall be referred to the Residential Mortgage foreclosure Mediation Program (RMFM), unless the plaintiff and borrower agree in writing otherwise or unless pre-suit mediation was conducted.

Who facilitates the mediation? Under the program, nonprofit organizations are to run the program with Florida Supreme Court-certified circuit civil mediators specifically trained to mediate residential foreclosure actions."

A copy of the actual Administrative Order for the 7th Judicial Circuit can be found at:

Having been to mediation previously and having found it to favor the deepest pockets, I was wondering what you thought?
